Johnson received her Bachelor of Science degree (summa cum laude) from Southern University in Baton Rouge, La., her master’s from Stanford and her Ph.D. from Rice University. She was the first black female ever elected as a member of the prestigious IBM Academy of Technology, and is a former Chief Technology Officer, IBM Central, East and West Africa. Her travels across the country as a public speaker, during which she encourages adults and children alike to be the best they can be and shares with them her words of wisdom, were the impetus for her to write Inspirational Nuggets.
